About Moody Theater
Austin City Limits Live at The Moody Theater is the permanent home and production studio for the iconic PBS music series Austin City Limits. Completed in February 2011 as part of the Block 21 complex in downtown Austin, the venue was equipped with high-definition production gear thanks to a $2.5 million grant from the Moody Foundation of Galveston. Visitors can attend over 100 concerts and tapings each year in a space that seats 2,750 fans, a dramatic upgrade from the old 320-seat studio on the UT campus. The theater also hosts around 100 private events annually, and KLRU, the local PBS station, uses the venue rent-free for 45 days each season to produce the television program. It is a premier destination for experiencing live music and witnessing the creation of a beloved TV show.
