Everything you need to know about our journey builder pipeline, editing capabilities, and saving plans.
Our app uses a decoupled AI system. First, it takes your travel answers and compiles a prompt. A fast LLM model (DeepSeek) generates a structured JSON itinerary with local coordinate approximations. Then, we geolocate coordinates via OpenStreetMap (Nominatim) and retrieve high-quality photography matching the keywords. The final, optimized trip is stored in our database and loaded instantly on your screen.
Most AI travel planners force you to regenerate your entire trip if you want a change, wiping out your customized steps. With whattodowheretogo, you can use natural language to modify specific parts (e.g. 'Replace dinner on Day 1' or 'Make Sunday budget-friendly'). We send a differential prompt to only edit the targeted array blocks, keeping the rest of your itinerary, coordinates, and images exactly the same.
Yes! Every user can build up to three complete journeys for free. You don't need a credit card. If you're planning more trips, need to modify details with 'Editable AI', or want to sync itineraries offline, we have a one-time Pro upgrade package.
Absolutely. Once your trip is generated, you can copy the unique URL. Sharing the link allows anyone to view your customized timeline, venues, pricing, and coordinates. You can also group your trips into public or private Collections for collaborative lookup.
We strive to make them as accurate as possible. We run coordinates generated by the LLM through geocoding validation checks using OpenStreetMap databases to verify the business name and location markers match real-world points.
