Civic Garden Park

Civic Garden is a 1.7-acre public park in downtown Dallas, between Main and Commerce east of Griffin. Built on a former parking lot, it features perennial gardens, shaded groves, plaza spaces, an interactive fountain, a 10-foot hill that offers views over the central fountain plaza, and a garden grove with movable tables and chairs. The park was funded by Belo Corporation and opened in 2012 after delays for soil cleanup. Visitors can enjoy the topographical relief of the hill, cool off at the interactive fountain, or relax in the shaded grove with movable seating. The park provides a green oasis amid the urban landscape, with spaces for lounging, people-watching, and casual gatherings. The design includes a wall along the adjacent Metropolitan Building for noise and traffic protection, adding a unique urban character.
