Dallas Zoo

The Dallas Zoo is a 106-acre zoological park located in Marsalis Park, 3 miles south of downtown Dallas. Established in 1888, it is the oldest and largest zoo in Texas, home to over 2,000 animals representing 406 species. It is managed by the non-profit Dallas Zoological Society and is accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums and the World Association of Zoos and Aquariums. Visitors can explore the 11-acre Giants of the Savanna exhibit, which opened in 2009. The zoo attracts over one million visitors annually and employs nearly 1,800 people. It offers extensive amenities including food services, retail, and special events, all supported by more than 25,500 membership households. The zoo provides a family-friendly outdoor experience with diverse wildlife and engaging habitats.
