Texas Star

The Texas Star is a 216-foot-tall Ferris wheel at Fair Park in Dallas, built by SDC Corp. in Italy and first operated at the 1985 State Fair of Texas. It has 44 gondolas that can carry up to 264 passengers, making it the most popular ride at the fair. It was the tallest Ferris wheel in North America until 2013. Visitors can experience a ride on this historic wheel, which has been owned by the Talley family since 2024. At night, the wheel is illuminated by a LED system that replaced the original 16,000 incandescent lights in 2008. Riding the Texas Star offers a classic fair experience with great views of the fairgrounds.
