Wolfsonian–FIU

The Wolfsonian–FIU is a museum, library, and research center located in the Art Deco District of Miami Beach, Florida. It is part of Florida International University and holds collections that demonstrate how art and design can persuade and influence. The collections include about 180,000 objects from 1885 to 1945, spanning furniture, industrial design, glass, ceramics, metal, rare books, periodicals, ephemera, works on paper, paintings, textiles, and medals. Visitors can explore strong holdings from Germany, Great Britain, Italy, the Netherlands, and the United States, as well as significant works from Austria, Czechoslovakia, France, Hungary, Japan, and the former Soviet Union. Highlights include the British Arts & Crafts movement, Dutch and Italian Art Nouveau, American industrial design, world's fair objects, propaganda from the World Wars and Spanish Civil War, New Deal graphic and decorative arts, avant-garde book design, and architectural drawings.
