American Museum of Natural History

The American Museum of Natural History is a natural history museum on Manhattan's Upper West Side, set within Theodore Roosevelt Park across from Central Park. Its complex includes 21 interconnected buildings with 45 permanent exhibition halls, a planetarium, and a library. The museum houses around 32 million specimens spanning plants, animals, fossils, minerals, meteorites, human remains, and cultural artifacts, plus specialized collections for frozen tissue and astrophysical data. Only a small fraction is on display at any time. Visitors can explore dinosaur fossils, dioramas, and the Rose Center for Earth and Space. The museum also offers a planetarium show, a library, and rotating exhibits.
