Belvedere Castle

Belvedere Castle is a folly located in Central Park, Manhattan, designed by Calvert Vaux and Jacob Wrey Mould in 1867. It blends Romanesque and Gothic architectural styles, built from Manhattan schist and granite with a corner tower and conical cap. The name means "beautiful view" in Italian. Visitors can explore exhibit rooms and an observation deck that offers panoramic views of the park. Since 1919, the castle has also housed Central Park’s official weather station, adding a unique historical and scientific attraction to the experience.
