Madison Square Garden

Madison Square Garden is a multi-purpose indoor arena in Midtown Manhattan, located atop Pennsylvania Station between Seventh and Eighth avenues. It hosts professional ice hockey, basketball, boxing, mixed martial arts, concerts, and other events. The current venue is the fourth to bear the name, with predecessors dating to 1879, and it opened in 1968 on the site of the old Penn Station. Visitors can catch New York Rangers NHL games or New York Knicks NBA games, or attend concerts, circuses, and wrestling shows. It is the oldest major sports facility in the New York metro area and ranks among the busiest music arenas globally. Its location near the Empire State Building, Koreatown, and Macy's makes it a convenient stop during a Midtown visit.
