MetLife Stadium

MetLife Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium at the Meadowlands Sports Complex in East Rutherford, New Jersey, five miles west of New York City. Opened in 2010, it replaced Giants Stadium and serves as the home field for both the New York Giants and New York Jets of the NFL. Built at a cost of about $1.6 billion, it was the most expensive stadium in the U.S. at completion. With a capacity of over 82,000, it is the largest stadium in New Jersey and the New York metro area, as well as the largest in the NFL. Visitors can attend NFL games featuring both local teams or major international soccer events. The stadium hosted Super Bowl XLVIII in 2014, nine matches of the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup including the final, and eight matches of the 2026 FIFA World Cup including the final, during which it was temporarily renamed New York New Jersey Stadium. It is one of only two NFL stadiums shared by two different teams, the other being SoFi Stadium in California.
