Sardi's

Sardi's is a classic continental restaurant in the Theater District, opened in 1927 by Vincent Sardi Sr. and his wife Jenny. It's famous for the over a thousand caricatures of Broadway stars lining its walls, a tradition started with Russian refugee Alex Gard. Visitors can dine in a historic setting that has been a pre- and post-theater gathering spot for decades. The restaurant hosted opening night parties and was where the idea for the Tony Awards was conceived. It remains a Broadway institution, perfect for soaking in showbiz atmosphere.
