Freud Museum

The Freud Museum is housed in the London home where Sigmund Freud lived during the last year of his life after escaping the Nazi annexation of Austria. His daughter Anna lived here until her death in 1982, and it was her wish that the house become a museum. It opened to the public in July 1986. Inside, visitors can see Freud's consulting room and the famous couch he brought from Vienna, where he practised free association with his patients. The museum also displays his library, the manuscript for his final book Moses and Monotheism, and personal effects. The museum was featured in a BBC documentary series. Its current president is David Freud, Sigmund's great-grandson.
