Madame Tussauds

Madame Tussauds is a wax museum founded in London in 1835 by French sculptor Marie Tussaud. One of its early main attractions was the Chamber of Horrors, first advertised in 1843. In 1884, the museum moved to its current location on Marylebone Road, where it continues to operate. A major tourist attraction since the Victorian era, Madame Tussauds displays waxworks of famous historical figures and popular film and television characters. The museum offers the chance to see lifelike depictions of celebrities and icons. Operated by Merlin Entertainments, it has expanded to cities across four continents, with the first overseas branch opening in Amsterdam in 1970.
