Westminster Bridge

Westminster Bridge is a road-and-foot-traffic bridge crossing the River Thames, connecting Westminster on the west side with Lambeth on the east. It is painted green, matching the leather seats in the House of Commons, and contrasts with the red Lambeth Bridge upstream. The bridge underwent a complete refurbishment between 2005 and 2007 and was designated a Grade II listed structure in 1981. Visitors can walk across the bridge to enjoy sweeping views of the Palace of Westminster, the London Eye, and County Hall. It was the finishing point for the early London Marathon, adding a sense of sporting history. The bridge is a free public space, ideal for a leisurely stroll and photography, especially with the landmark domes and riverside scenery.
