Salazar Park

Ruben F. Salazar Park, originally called Laguna Park, is a recreational and historical site in East Los Angeles. It was renamed to honor journalist Ruben Salazar, who was killed by police during the 1970 National Chicano Moratorium march. Salazar used his platform at the Los Angeles Times to champion the Chicano civil rights movement. The park stands as a landmark of Chicano activism against Mexican-American involvement in the Vietnam War. Today, the park serves as a community space for the Latiné population, offering various amenities.
