Schermerhorn Symphony Center

Schermerhorn Symphony Center is a concert hall located in downtown Nashville, Tennessee. Construction began in December 2003, and the venue formally opened on September 9, 2006, with a gala concert conducted by Leonard Slatkin that was broadcast by PBS affiliates throughout the state. The center is named after Kenneth Schermerhorn, the music director and conductor of the Nashville Symphony from 1983 until his death in 2005; the naming occurred before his passing. The center hosts live music performances and events, offering visitors a chance to experience orchestral concerts in a purpose-built setting.
