Tennessee State Museum

The Tennessee State Museum is a large museum that tells the story of the state's history. The 137,000-square-foot building opened in 2018 at the foot of Capitol Hill near Bicentennial Capitol Mall State Park. It features a Tennessee Time Tunnel leading through the permanent collection, a hands-on children's gallery, six rotating galleries, a digital learning center, and a two-story Grand Hall. Visitors can explore significant artifacts, art, furniture, textiles, and photographs created by Tennesseans. The Civil War collection includes uniforms, battle flags, and weapons. Admission to the museum is free, making it an accessible cultural destination.
