Lady Rainier

Lady Rainier is a bronzed statue of a woman holding a glass, created in Germany in 1903 for the Seattle Brewing & Malting Company. Originally part of a fountain with water overflowing like beer foam, it was first placed in the company's Georgetown courtyard. Over the years it moved multiple times and now stands outside a former Rainier brewery in the SoDo neighborhood. A 2005 proposal to relocate it to Oxbow Park and restore the fountain has not yet been realized. Visitors can see this unusual piece of Seattle's brewing history at its current outdoor location. The statue offers a glimpse into the city's beer heritage and makes for a fun photo stop. It is freely accessible as a public artwork, and its background story adds to the local character of the area.
