SIFF Cinema Downtown

This landmark theater in Seattle's Belltown neighborhood first opened in 1963 and was renovated in the 1990s after being purchased by Paul Allen. It closed in May 2020 but was acquired by the Seattle International Film Festival in 2023, reopening on December 14, 2023 as SIFF Cinema Downtown due to trademark issues with the Cinerama name. Visitors can watch films in a historic venue that, at the time of its 2020 closure, was one of only three theaters worldwide capable of showing three-panel Cinerama movies. Today it continues to operate as a cinema and is a key venue for the Seattle International Film Festival.
