Andy's Jazz Club

Founded in 1951 as Andy's 11 E. Lounge by Andy Rizzuto, this jazz club sits several blocks north of the Chicago Loop. After a group of investors led by Scott Chisolm purchased the property in 1975, it was renamed Andy's and has since become one of the city's most popular jazz venues. In 1977, jazz promoters Penny Tyler and John Defauw began producing midday sessions that later expanded to include performances at 5pm and 9pm. The 5pm set, known as Jazz at Five, has become a cherished Chicago tradition. The first Chicago Jazz Fest was planned on the premises. Over the years, the stage has hosted legendary musicians such as Larry Coryell, Franz Jackson, Von Freeman, and Joey DeFrancesco.
