Biograph Theater

The Biograph Theater on Lincoln Avenue originally opened as a movie theater in 1915, but now hosts live stage productions. It was designated a Chicago Landmark in 2001 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Visitors come to see live performances in a venue steeped in notoriety: bank robber John Dillinger was leaving a gangster movie here when FBI agents shot him dead on July 22, 1934.
