Burnham Park

Burnham Park is a 598-acre public park along Chicago's Lake Michigan shoreline, stretching 6 miles from Grant Park to Jackson Park. Named for urban planner Daniel Burnham, it was created through the 1909 Plan for Chicago and is managed by the Chicago Park District. The park was established via land acquisitions including bequest, reclamation, and barter. Visitors can explore several beaches, boat harbors, hiking and biking trails, and nature reserves. The park also hosts major municipal structures like Soldier Field and McCormick Place. It connects to the Museum Campus and the Museum of Science and Industry, making it a hub for both recreation and cultural attractions.
