Jackson Park

Jackson Park is a 551.5-acre public park on Lake Michigan's South Side, straddling Hyde Park, Woodlawn, and South Shore neighborhoods. Designed by Frederick Law Olmsted and Calvert Vaux in 1871, it was later remodeled for the 1893 World's Columbian Exposition, leaving behind landmarks like the Garden of the Phoenix, the Statue of The Republic, and the Museum of Science and Industry. Visitors can explore aquatic islands and lagoons, boat harbors, playing fields, prairie restorations, a golf course, and three beaches. The park also houses the Barack Obama Presidential Center and La Rabida Children's Hospital, making it a diverse destination for history, recreation, and lakeside relaxation.
