Man Enters the Cosmos

Man Enters the Cosmos is a cast bronze sculpture by Henry Moore, created in 1980. It is a functional bowstring equatorial sundial measuring approximately 13 feet, located on the Lake Michigan lakefront outside the Adler Planetarium in Chicago's Museum Campus. The work is a later copy of a composition from the 1960s originally made for The Times newspaper's offices in London, and it is titled Sundial 1965–66 by the Henry Moore Foundation. Visitors can view this striking bronze sculpture that also serves as a working sundial.
