Chester M. Alter Arboretum

Chester M. Alter Arboretum is an arboretum on the University of Denver campus. In 1999, the trees of University Park were designated an arboretum to honor Chancellor Emeritus Chester M. Alter. The collection includes about 2,100 trees, many of which are rare for Colorado. A visit offers the chance to see notable specimens such as Giant Sequoia, Dawn Redwood, Cedar of Lebanon, Bald Cypress, Umbrella Pine, and diverse maples and oaks. The arboretum provides a tranquil setting for a walk among these trees, making it a pleasant destination for nature lovers.
