Cranmer Park

Cranmer Park is a public park in Denver's Hilltop neighborhood, located off Colorado Boulevard between East 1st and East 3rd Avenue. It is a city park that offers open green space for relaxation and recreation. The park is notable for its large sundial, which features detailed inscriptions. The gnomon's axis is elevated 39°43' toward polar north, while the stone face is angled to be parallel to the equator. A polar chart at the base describes the zodiac and sun positions, and includes instructions for setting a clock using the shadow. The south side of the stone is marked for winter observations.
