SAME Cafe

SAME Cafe is a nonprofit community cafe where the name stands for "So All May Eat." Inspired by a visit to One World Cafe in Salt Lake City, founders Brad and Libby Birky opened the Denver location in 2006. The cafe operates on a pay-what-you-can model: diners put what they feel their meal is worth into a donation box. Visitors can also trade a half-hour of volunteer work for a meal, thanks to Colorado laws that don't require a food handlers certificate for restaurant workers.
