Golden Gate Park

Golden Gate Park is a large urban park on the west side of San Francisco, spanning 1,017 acres between the Richmond and Sunset districts. It is the largest park in the city and the third-most visited urban park in the United States, with an estimated 24 million visitors annually. Part of the park features old-growth forest recognized by the Old-Growth Forest Network. Visitors can explore cultural institutions like the de Young Museum, California Academy of Sciences, and Japanese Tea Garden. Other attractions include the Conservatory of Flowers, San Francisco Botanical Garden, Beach Chalet, and the Golden Gate Park windmills. The park offers recreational activities such as bicycling, pedal boating, and concerts like the Outside Lands music festival and Hardly Strictly Bluegrass. It is accessible by car and public transportation.
