Prelinger Library

The Prelinger Library is a privately funded public library in San Francisco, founded in 2004 by Megan and Rick Prelinger. It holds over 50,000 books, periodicals, and pieces of print ephemera, and considers itself a "hybrid library" that blends digital and non-digital resources. As of 2009, it had over 3,700 e-books online and continues to digitize much of its collection. Visitors are encouraged to enjoy complimentary tea and chat with other guests about their discoveries. The library hosts around 1,000 visitors each year, offering a unique, serendipitous atmosphere for browsing and conversation. It's a welcoming space for anyone curious about its eclectic holdings.
